Mark Aspinall ( ex- lecturer in Ceramics at Manchester Metropolitan University ) shall teach a series of intensive practically based ( and modular ) making courses in ; the Ceramic Arts and Watercolour Painting. These courses are aimed to encompass both beginners and more experienced students. The intensive courses are structured specifically to be able to address the students individual needs ; to give beginning students a solid broad-based and yet flexible working foundation for creative work with clay , and also to permit those with more experience to amplify and perfect their skills. My aim is to sow the seeds and cultivate, in each individual student, the essential skills and enthusiasm that may lead to the development of a personal creative hobby, and that could even lead on for some to a professional involvement in the creative visual arts. To that end, with a limited number of students on each course ( a maximum of 8 ), I shall be able to dedicate individual attention to each student creating a relaxed but productive, informal tutorial environment, enabling the students to realize rewarding and worthwhile works within a brief period.
The courses shall run as a 5 day week , starting on Monday mornings at 09.00 and concluding on Friday evenings. ( Students may arrive and depart over the weekends - or on other days by previous agreement. )
Accomodation , lunch, mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshments shall be provided, included within the course costs.
The studio shall be open with tutorial coverage from 09.00 am till 20.00 pm, and closed for lunch break from 13.00 till 15.30. |
